Why are the Regional rules different from regular competition?

Championship events, including the Regional, have a unique set of rules designed to demonstrate skill, endurance, and teamwork. All teams compete on the same course, using the same rules and scoring, regardless of their qualifying level. The Regional Championship welcomes the best of the best to compete, and as such, the challenges presented reflect that level of competition, ensuring a truly elite test of performance and ability.
