Mixed Breed and “Other” Breed Classification in NASDA

NASDA provides opportunities for mixed breed and non-traditionally recognized breeds to compete, with specific classifications for registration and awards eligibility.

Mixed Breed Dogs

  • Registered as “Mixed Breed” in NASDA records.
  • Eligible to compete in all NASDA sports.

“Other” Breed Classification

  • Used when a dog’s breed is not yet included in NASDA’s official breed listing but is recognized by one of the approved registries.
  • Dogs listed as “Other” are not eligible for Best of Breed awards at year-end.
  • If NASDA later recognizes the breed, the dog’s registration can be updated accordingly.
