About Online Titles

The NASDA Online Title Program allows teams to earn official NASDA titles from the comfort of their own training environments while maintaining the same high standards as in-person competitions. Designed to be both accessible and challenging, the program provides structured opportunities for dogs to demonstrate their scent detection and searching abilities across various disciplines. Handlers submit video entries showcasing their dog’s skills in real-world search scenarios, which are then reviewed and judged by NASDA officials.

This program is perfect for teams looking to build skills, gain experience, and earn recognition outside of traditional trial settings. With titles available in Lost Item Online, Urban Locating Online, and Shed Dog Online, exhibitors can work toward their goals on a flexible schedule. Whether preparing for in-person trials or simply enjoying the challenge of NASDA-style searches, the Online Title Program offers an engaging and rewarding way to put scent work training to the test.

Handlers place their own hides following NASDA guidelines and must document the search process through video submission. Each entry must include:

  1. Course Walkthrough – A visual and verbal overview of the search area, including:
    • The marked start line
    • Hide location
    • Distractor placement (when applicable)
  2. Hide Verification – Clear demonstration of the hidden item’s location and type.
  3. Run Video – A recorded search, including:
    • The dog’s behavior at the start line
    • Search performance
    • The handler’s call of “alert” when the dog locates the item

Each completed search must be submitted using an entry form accessed via the user dashboard, with the option to indicate multiple searches per dog.
