What is “panel judging” at the Regional?

Judges take their role at Championship events very seriously and are often not accessible to exhibitors during the event. While they are focused on the immense responsibility of setting courses and challenges that embody the spirit of NASDA, they are also the same judges you know and love the rest of the year. At the Regional level, panel judging is used in the semi-final and final rounds to ensure fair and accurate scoring.
- At least two judges are present for these rounds.
- Judges agree on the course time, hide placement and distractors before the competition begins.
- Judges collaborate on all scoring decisions, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- All judges time each run
- This system helps prevent errors such as timer failures or discrepancies in scoring.
