Founded in 2016, the North American Sport Dog Association (NASDA) was created to celebrate and showcase the incredible olfactory abilities of dogs. NASDA trials are designed to closely mirror historic working scenarios and competitive fieldwork, offering an authentic experience for both dogs and handlers.  NASDA Working Dog Trials provide a unique opportunity for all dogs, regardless of breed or background, to participate in scent-based challenges traditionally reserved for a select few breeds. Competing teams can earn titles and championships that highlight their skills and achievements in real-world hunt and search scenarios.

Each year, NASDA recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of top-performing teams by inviting them to our prestigious Championship series. This series includes four specialized categories: Trailing & Locating, Urban Locating, Lost Item Recovery, and Shed Dog. Invitations are earned based on a team’s performance throughout the calendar year.

NASDA offers three levels of championship events: Showcase, Regional, and Invitational. Together, these events celebrate individual achievements, honor versatility, and ultimately crown a national champion in each of the four sports.
