Phase II: Apprentice (Supervised Judging)

Once you have been notified that you are approved to begin supervised judging assignments, you may begin to work with judges as an apprentice.  For these assignments, you will be judging alongside or under their supervision.  You will work with the supervising judge to choose search areas, hides, timing, score and judge runs for each class and level.  You will need to record the number of runs completed for each trial and upload them for review.

The apprentice judge sets hides / trails, selects search areas and judges / scores runs under the supervision of an approved judge.  Apprentice judge must log the number of runs in each class within each trial and have the primary judge sign off on the record.  Logs may be submitted as completed.

30 Runs each level:  Urban Locating, Trailing & Locating, Lost Item Recovery
15 Runs each level:  Shed Dog, Trailing Brace

It is highly recommended you apprentice judge under a different Judges to gain as much experience as you can. This often means traveling to different trial locations and other clubs to gain further experience.
