Provisional
Apprentice Judges will move to Provisional Judge status as they complete the Supervised Judging requirements for each class and/or level. It is common for a judge to have enough experience in only one or two classes to judge them, but not other classes. Or, at Level I, but not in Level II. If that is the case, a judge is labeled Provisional. This means a judge is limited to judge only what they have trained for and must not take on judging assignments they aren’t qualified for.
It is also very highly recommended, and often mandated for judges who only have 1 local club, to travel to other clubs in other regions to gain better universal NASDA experience as a competitor, and even possibly back up judge when a Provisional Judge.
