Welcome to the 2026 NASDA Showcase & Invitational

Owego, New York • September 17–20, 2026

We are excited to welcome you to Owego, New York, for four days celebrating exceptional dogs, talented handlers, good sportsmanship, and the NASDA community.

Whether this is your first Championship event or you are returning for another year, please take a few minutes to read this page in its entirety. It contains important information about arrival, competition procedures, required compliance, the banquet, weekend activities, and Championship rules.

Required Before Arrival

Every exhibitor must complete the required electronic Sportsmanship & Information Security Agreement before arriving at the trial grounds.

This requirement also applies to each person attending with an entrant, even if that individual is not competing. A parent or legal guardian must complete the agreement on behalf of a junior participant.

The agreement includes important requirements concerning information security, electronic and recording devices, blind competition, handler restrictions, sportsmanship, and prohibited items, including the prohibition against bringing personal or unauthorized quarry onto the trial grounds.

It is each exhibitor’s responsibility to have read and understood the 2026 NASDA Championship Event Rules before competing.

The Championship Event Rules establish requirements specific to the Showcase and Invitational. When a matter is not specifically addressed by the Championship Event Rules, all other applicable NASDA rules remain in effect.

This competition area is located at a private residence a very short distance from the fire station. The address will be provided to exhibitors upon check-in. Exhibitors will be sent to this location in groups.

Weekend Schedule

Thursday, September 17 — Showcase

8:00 AM — Check-In
8:30 AM — Exhibitor Briefing

Competition will follow the briefing. Lunch will be taken at the discretion of the host club.

A random draw will determine class order and dog running order, with the results announced the day before. For those unfamiliar with this format, the random draw is a traditional component of NASDA Championship events.

Showcase awards will be presented at the conclusion of the day.

Qualifying ribbons will be presented at the conclusion of the day. Placements and scores will not be announced until the conclusion of Invitational Day 2.

Sunday, September 20 — Semifinals & Finals

8:00 AM — Briefing

Semifinal competition will begin following the briefing. Finals and Championship awards will follow.

Saturday Evening Banquet

The banquet will be held at the neighboring golf club.

Invitational awards will be presented during the banquet, along with announcements of the teams advancing to Sunday’s Semifinals.

Individuals who choose not to attend or are unable to attend will be able to access the complete results and list of Semifinalists through the NASDA Invitational website.

Daily Raffles

There will be a raffle each day Thursday through Saturday. These raffles help build community while also supporting the event and the clubs, judges, volunteers, and local community who make Championship events possible.

One of the most fun—and unofficial—traditions of Championship events is the swapping and trading that happens between exhibitors from across North America.

We encourage you to bring:

  • Stickers
  • Pins
  • Club swag
  • Small regional treats
  • Fun dog-themed goodies
  • Anything that represents your area or your club

It is a wonderful way to celebrate the diversity of our community, meet new friends, and head home with a little piece of NASDA from across the continent.

And yes—NASDA is getting in on the action too. We will have some fun goodies of our own to trade throughout the weekend.

A Note From NASDA

We ask our exhibitors for a little patience and grace as we bring this year’s Championship together.

As we have previously shared with our community, illness, loss, and wildfire have made this an exceedingly difficult summer at NASDA.

During the Hawk Fire and the evacuation and recovery that followed, several Championship-related items were lost, destroyed, damaged, or rendered undeliverable.

We have been working very hard to replace those items. Where possible, replacements are being remanufactured and shipped directly to New York so they can meet us there.

Despite those efforts, there may be a small number of items that simply cannot be replaced and delivered in time for the event. If that occurs, those items will be shipped to recipients after the Championship.

We appreciate your understanding if something looks a little different this year or if an item has to catch up with you afterward.

Most importantly, the event itself is happening, the dogs are coming, and so is the NASDA community.

If your dog competed in NASDA during 2025, we welcome you to submit them for inclusion in the Championship Slideshow — whether or not you are able to attend the event.

The completed slideshow will be made available to all exhibitors following the Championship celebration dinner.

We’re getting ready for one of our favorite parts of the NASDA Championship celebration — the Championship Slideshow!

If your dog competed in NASDA during 2025, we welcome you to share them for inclusion in the slideshow. Your dog does not need to be attending the Championship, and you do not need to be able to attend the event.

The slideshow submission form allows you to:

  • Select your dog directly from your NASDA account
  • Upload up to five photos
  • Tell us a little about what makes your dog special
  • Let us know if your dog is a Veteran, has a Medical Accommodation, or should be recognized In Memory

You do not need to provide your dog’s NASDA titles or 2025 rankings. Your dog’s NASDA titles and applicable 2025 year-end rankings will be automatically included with their submission.

Photo Guidelines

You may upload up to five photos so our slideshow designer has several options to work with. Clear, high-quality original photos are preferred whenever possible.

Both portrait and landscape photos are welcome. Please avoid screenshots, heavily cropped images, blurry photos, collages, or images with large amounts of text when possible.

Due to layout, space, and image quality, not every submitted photo may be used. The slideshow designer will select the photo or photos that work best for the final presentation and may crop images as needed.

Not Attending the Championship?

Please submit your dog anyway! The slideshow is part of the Championship celebration dinner, but the completed presentation will be made available to all exhibitors after the dinner.

Important Exhibitor Information

Championship Sportsmanship & Information Security

Championship competition depends on every team receiving the same opportunity to compete without advance information about searches, courses, hides, distractions, or competition conditions.

Please review NASDA's Championship Sportsmanship & Information Security Policy before the event. Recording restrictions, communication-device requirements, and limits on discussing competition elements apply to Championship-level events.

Protecting Blind Competition

NASDA Championship events are designed to celebrate the partnership, training, and teamwork between dog and handler. Fair competition requires that teams compete without receiving advance information about competition elements.

Video & Photography

Exhibitors and spectators may not record searches, competition areas, briefings, walkthroughs, or other competition elements unless specifically authorized by NASDA officials.

This applies to phones, cameras, tablets, smart glasses, recording-capable watches, body cameras, wearable technology, and other audio or visual recording devices. Official NASDA media or specifically authorized individuals may record designated portions of the event.

Phones & Communication Devices

During portions of Championship competition, exhibitors may be instructed not to possess or use personal communication devices. This may include phones, smart watches, earbuds, radios, and similar technology.

Official NASDA accommodations are recognized. Otherwise, exhibitors should be prepared to follow event-official instructions regarding devices and access to competition areas.

Don't Share Competition Information

Until a class has concluded, exhibitors, spectators, and volunteers should not discuss searches, hides, distractions, course design, environmental conditions, or other competition details.

This includes conversations at the event as well as texts, social media posts, livestreams, online groups, and other electronic communication.

Sportsmanship & Integrity

Exhibitors are expected to compete honestly and independently while treating fellow competitors, volunteers, judges, and event officials with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.

Conduct that compromises the fairness, integrity, or sportsmanship of the event may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the event, forfeiture of awards, or additional action by NASDA.

Please remember: When in doubt, don't record it, don't share it, and follow the instructions of NASDA event officials. These policies help ensure every dog and handler receives a fair opportunity to compete.
