Event Premium

An event premium document is an official informational packet that provides all the necessary details about a specific dog sports event, such as a NASDA trial. This document is essential for exhibitors and participants to understand the structure, rules, and logistics of the event. It serves as both an announcement and a guide for anyone planning to attend or compete.

A link to the premium is required at the time of sanctioning.

What Does an Event Premium Include?

    • Name, date(s), and location of the event.
    • Hosting club and contact information.
  2. Classes and Levels Offered:
    • A list of the classes (e.g., Trailing & Locating, Urban Locating) and levels (PAT, Level I, Level II, etc.) available at the event.
  3. Judge Information:
    • Names of the judges and the class / levels they will judge.
  4. Schedule:
    • Start times, check-in times, and any practice sessions or workshops being offered.
  5. Entry Information:
    • Entry fees for each class and level.
    • How and where to submit entries (e.g., online form, email, mail).
    • Entry deadlines and refund policies.

  7. Awards and Titles:

  8. Liability and Waivers:

Why Is the Event Premium Important?

The event premium is critical because it:

  • Sets expectations: Ensures exhibitors know what to expect and how to prepare.
  • Provides clarity: Minimizes confusion by addressing logistical and procedural questions in advance.
  • Encourages participation: Serves as a marketing tool to attract competitors.

For NASDA events, a sample event premium is typically included in the Master Handbook to guide clubs in creating their own. It is important that the premium be detailed, accurate, and made available to participants well in advance of the trial.
